AmaZulu FC gets rid of its management

Although the KwaZulu-Natal based soccer team failed to reach the target set by club owner Sandile Zungu, they still managed to avoid relegation.

However, the team made headlines for wrong reasons this past weekend after it was alleged that the owner decided to axe the entire management, including caretaker coach Ayanda Dlamini, while several players are also said to be on the club’s axe list.

Holding a media conference on Monday, Zungu said Dlamini a simple mandate that was given to him and he failed to meet it and as a result he had to get rid of him.

He was given a target of nothing less than top 8 in the log.

“When he replaced Romain Folz, his mandate was very simple, forget relegation. His mandate was to take AmaZulu to the top eight. He could’ve collected 18 points, which was unlikely but possible.”

“His target was to bring us into the top eight and he didn’t accomplish it. He got five points, he did less than 30%, which is not a pass. It wasn’t a stellar performance, in particular by AmaZulu standards.”

Zungu said that he is in talks with several coaches both local and abroad.
