Trouble at NTI as employees go months without pay

Estimated reading time: 3 minute(s)

The problems at the North West Transport Investment (NTI) are far from being solved now with the latest news being that of employees alleging that they had not been paid for three months.

MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari’s office through Acting Head of Department, Ms Mpho Maleme released a statement this Tuesday saying to their knowledge, the matter with the company is with the Business Rescue Practitioner and by the look of things it seems like the Practitioner has been diverting funds and not paying employees.

The statement came as a result of disgruntled employees who used five company buses to cause a traffic jam at the Legislature precinct.

Meeting with the employees, MEC Lehari said the Department has been playing their part and the person who is at fault is the Practitioner who has not been communicating with everyone.

More to follow on the story.
