A case against a 52 years old attorney accused of defrauding Road Accident Fund (RAF) claimants has been postponed by the Rustenburg Magistrates Court to October 14, 2022 for mediation proposals.
Betty Diale was accused of stealing money amounting to almost R700K meant for the claimants.
NPA Regional Spokesperson Henry Mamomthame said that Diale is out on a warning and has been cautioned not to interfere with the state witnesses. Diale’s defence attorney indicated to the court, that they intend to provide the state with mediation proposals to settle the matter.
The state did not oppose the postponement and will study the proposals for consideration.
