Social media still abuzz about Mzansi’s best distributor Itumeleng Khune’s future in the poles in Amakhosi’s squad that he haven’t been a part of for while.
Many supporters have been wondering if this could be a way of ushering in new talent, energetic and young.
Just after losing to Royal AM in their first 2022/23 PSL game, when asked why didn’t play Khune, coach Arthur Zwane said it is about who is at their best performance now more than anything and although he still trusts Khune, he thinks the likes of Bvuma and Peterson have been at their best prime at the moment.
He also said that he wants to retain and keep good competition between the keepers.
He added that Khune still has an armband until further notice.
Having lost one out two games they have played so far, Coach Zwane seems to being strategic in rather grooming players who are at their prime at the moment as he has been playing youngsters in their early 20s.
He was excited this past weekend after securing a win against Maritzburg United 3-0 with the last goal coming from an 18 years old Mduduzi Shabalala.
